Case Studies - Loft Conversions

Swing Cottage, Hollingworth Lake

This project combined commercial, residential and retail, and all three elements remained operational throughout the project. The huge rear dormer, designed and built to match the existing buildings is supported on steel girders, and this is now the living space for the owner of the property.

The bed and breakfast, coffee shop and gift shop remained open as we fed RSJ’s through first floor windows in the early morning or late at night, and the new commercial kitchen was made ready for installation whilst the staff continued to use the existing kitchen.

Again, our flexible approach allowed this thriving business to stay open with the minimum of disruption.

Woodlands Road, Milnrow (Dormer Conversion)

This front and rear dormer extension created a large four bedroom house with two living rooms and two bathrooms, from what was previously a modest two bedroom bungalow. The front pediments give great character, both inside and out, and the flat roof dormer at the rear maximises the space to the back bedroom and bathroom.

Our considered approach meant that our clients, a middle aged couple with an elderly relative, were able to remain in the bungalow throughout the project, despite being without a kitchen for a short period, and allowing for everything nature could throw at us through the wettest summer on record.

The end result was a luxurious and high quality living space of which we are very proud and the customer very happy.
